The grand prize winner walks away with $5,000 on a prepaid Discover card and one hour with Judy Lawrence, financial counselor and coach, author of "The Budget Kit", and founder of www.moneytracker.com; second place receives $2,500 on a prepaid Discover card and 30 minutes with Lawrence; and third place wins $1,000 and 30 minutes with Lawrence.

Weekly Prizes: You can also win $500 each week of the Debit Smart Video contest just by submitting a clever tweet about a video. Simply tweet on your own Twitter account something extremely clever about a video and insert the hash tag #DebitSmart. We’ll determine the cleverest tweet of each week and award the winner a prepaid $500 gift card. Remember, you must include the hash tag #DebitSmart to be considered. Contest Timeframe: The DebitFacts.org "Are You Debit Smart?" video contest begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Central Time (CT) on May 24, 2010, and ends at 11:59:59 a.m. CT on July 4, 2010.

Judging: Your video submission will be judged on how informative, inspirational and entertaining it is by Judy Lawrence, financial counselor and coach, author of "The Budget Kit" and founder of www.moneytracker.com; Greg Norton, executive vice president of R+M, a brand development agency; Tom Russo, Jr., senior vice president of marketing at Wallis State Bank; Steve Sievert, senior vice president of communications & marketing at PULSE, one of the nation's leading ATM/debit networks; and the Well-Heeled blogger.

Entry Guidelines: We're looking for positive stories about you and your debit card use. Here are a few things to consider when composing your submission.

  • Keep it positive - If you have a great debit card story, tell us about it. If you have negative experiences with debit or other types of payment, this isn't the place, and your video will not be accepted.
  • Entries may not contain obscene, violent or defamatory images or text.
  • All videos must first be uploaded to YouTube. Capture the link and include it in your entry form.
